Children are entitled to 15 hours of Preschool per week, led by an Early Childhood Teacher with a master’s degree in teaching. Westcare Early Learning Centre receives government funding for our Preschool, which is used to purchase additional resources for children in the centre.
Benefits of our Kindergarten Program:
Children are supported in their transition to school with our “school readiness” program, which includes visits to our local Primary School
Children are introduced to Literacy and Numeracy concepts and these are extended on using Montessori Materials
Children’s imagination and creativity are supported through the stimulating learning environments
Opportunities for collaborative group work are provided to support children’s social skills, and problem-solving skills, as well as confidence within a group setting
Children learn to care for themselves, and understand personal care and hygiene
Our Kindergarten program is run each day in the Kindy room. Unlike most Kindy’s we stay over the school holidays, and our hours are extended to meet the needs of families.
